What we collect when you ask for a cash offer, why we collect it, who sees it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have as a California resident.
The short version. We collect what you type into the offer form plus basic technical data about your visit. We use it to price an offer and get back to you. We share it only with the people needed to do that — our platform providers, and title and escrow if you sell to us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your phone number or text-message consent with anyone for their own marketing.
The sections below are the full version, including how to ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it.
This policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], doing business as Sell My House Cali ("we," "us" or "our"), handles personal information collected through sellmyhousecali.com and through the phone calls, texts and emails that follow from it.
It does not cover information handled by third parties under their own policies — for example a title or escrow company you work with at closing, or a website you reach by clicking an outside link. It also does not change the terms of any signed purchase agreement. Your use of the site is also governed by our terms of use.
We collect only what we need to evaluate a property and respond to you. In the last 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information, using the category names from the California Consumer Privacy Act.
| Category | Examples we actually collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Your name, phone number, email address, the property address, and your device's IP address | To identify the property, price an offer and contact you |
| Customer records | Contact details you give us in conversation, and transaction details if you sell to us | To communicate and to complete a purchase |
| Commercial information | Property condition, occupancy, mortgage or lien status, timeline, reason for selling, offers made | To evaluate the property and structure an offer |
| Internet activity | Pages viewed, time on page, referring site, browser and device type | To keep the site working and understand what visitors need |
| Geolocation | Approximate city or region inferred from IP address — not precise device location | To confirm the property is in a market we serve |
| Audio recordings | Call recordings, where a call is recorded and disclosed as such | Quality and training, where permitted by law |
| Inferences | Our internal assessment of whether a property fits what we buy | To decide whether and what to offer |
We do not ask for sensitive personal information through this website — no Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, health information, or account credentials. Please do not send those through the form. If a purchase moves forward, escrow and title will request identity and payment details directly from you, under their own agreements and privacy policies.
We will not use your information for a materially different purpose without telling you first.
We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months. We do not sell the personal information of anyone under 16.
We also do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as the CPRA defines that term. Because of this, we do not offer a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link — there is nothing to opt out of. If that ever changes, we will update this section and add the required link before the change takes effect.
Note for the site owner: if you add a retargeting or conversion pixel (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and similar), this section must be rewritten and a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link must be added to the footer. Delete this note before publishing.
When you give us your phone number, you are asking us to reach you about your property. We may call, text and email you about your request and any transaction that follows.
Your phone number, and the consent you give to be contacted by text, are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Our messaging provider handles delivery on our behalf and may not use the information for anything else.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop further texts, or HELP for help. To stop marketing email, use the unsubscribe link in any message or write to us at [CONTACT EMAIL]. Opting out of marketing does not stop messages about a transaction already underway.
Calls may be recorded or monitored for quality and training where permitted by law, and we will disclose recording where the law requires it.
The site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep pages working, remember basic preferences, embed the offer form, and measure aggregate traffic. Our website platform and form provider set cookies necessary for those functions. Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on the site.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking cookies may break the offer form or other parts of the site.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the following rights, subject to legal exceptions:
We may need to keep some information despite a deletion request — for example records of a completed real estate transaction, or information we must retain for tax, title, accounting, fraud-prevention or legal-claim purposes.
Email [CONTACT EMAIL] with the subject line "Privacy request." Tell us which right you are exercising and include enough detail for us to find your records — typically the property address and the name, phone number or email you used when you contacted us. Because we operate exclusively online and deal with you directly, email is the method we provide for submitting requests.
To protect your information, we verify requests before acting on them. We will match the details you provide against what we already hold, and we may ask one or two follow-up questions. We will not ask you to create an account, and we will not use verification information for any other purpose. We cannot fulfill a request we are unable to verify.
An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission signed by you. We may still contact you directly to confirm the request and verify your identity.
We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will tell you and may take up to another 45 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request; we will explain in advance if a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets California residents ask once a year for a list of the personal information a business disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing, so there is nothing to report. You may still send a request to [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will confirm this in writing.
Some browsers and extensions send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal indicating you do not want your information sold or shared. We honor GPC signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information in the first place, a GPC signal does not change how we handle your data. Browsers also send "Do Not Track" signals, for which there is still no common standard; we do not track you across other websites in any case.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here.
When information is no longer needed we delete it or de-identify it.
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the size of our business — encrypted connections to the website, access limited to people who need it, and reputable platform providers who maintain their own security programs.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information such as account numbers or identity documents by unencrypted email or through the website form.
The site is intended for adults dealing with real property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it.
The site may link to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Read the privacy policy of any site you visit from here.
We buy property in California, but visitors sometimes reach us from elsewhere. If you live in a state with its own consumer privacy law that gives you rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, or to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will honor those rights where they apply to us. We handle everyone's information the same way described in this policy.
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The current version always appears on this page with a "last updated" date at the top. Material changes take effect when posted, and we will make reasonable efforts to flag them. Please check back periodically.
